Transport included
Our winter holiday and summer group holidays include free transfer in our minibus from and to Salzburg airport or station, and all transport whilst you are here, for up to 8 people. Groups of 9 or more will need to arrange additional transport, however there will be a reduction in pricing for this.
By Air
Our nearest airport is Salzburg airport which is an hour and a half drive from us, mostly on motorway.
In winter there are direct flights from almost all UK airports to Salzburg.
In summer there are fewer flights direct from the UK to Salzburg, so you may want to consider flying and driving from one of the following airports (journey from all airports is mostly on motorway):
Ljubljana (Slovenia) - 2 hours’ drive.
Linz (Austria) - 2.5 hours’ drive.
Munich (Germany) and Vienna (Austria) – 3 hours’ drive.
Innsbruck (Austria) and Venice (Italy) - 3.5 hours’ drive.
Note: There are good train connections between Munich and Vienna airports and Salzburg station.
By Car
Although we are in a village up a mountain valley, the roads to us are excellent (no steep or windy narrow roads), so driving to us is a good option for anyone that wants the freedom to explore all the wonderful areas in the Lungau region and beyond.
We have car parking space around the Chalet and parking in the whole of the Lungau area is free all day, except in certain town centre areas where free parking is only for 90 minutes.
We are approximately 788 miles / 1240 km from Calais, a journey time of about eleven and a half hours using the French, German and Austrian motorways (note Tolls apply on French and Austrian motorways) and twelve hours driving through Belgium and Germany.
If driving to us in winter your car will need to be fitted with winter tyres and you may require a set of chains, although all the roads are kept clear of snow, so it is rare you need to use them.
By Train
There are good train services from the UK across Europe, to Salzburg (1.5 hours away) or to Radstadt which is an hour from us or it is possible to get to Tamsweg, just 10 minutes from us, if you travel via Vienna.
